What are the hours of the convention?
The hours of the convention are as follows:
Friday: Noon-Midnight
Saturday: 9am-Midnight
Sunday: 9-am-6pm
And the hours of registration as follows:
Friday: 9am-10:30pm
Saturday: 8am-10:30pm
Sunday: 9am-5pm
How much money should I bring?
That depends on you! Most events are covered by your registration costs. There are a couple things that are not covered by registration costs (like if you want to buy something in the vendor room.) The events are not mandatory and there will be more information at the convention.
What to wear?
Contrary to popular belief, you are not required to cosplay at an Anime Convention. If you plan on cosplaying, be sure that you can fit through a standard door and don’t bring any weapons. For additional information, please see our weapons policy.
Okay, so what is your weapons policy?
“Prop weapons must be appropriate, no live steel. Weapons must be no bigger than what can safely fit through a normal doorway. If you can't fit it through the door, don't bring it. Also, UW Milwaukee bans guns on the premises, even if it looks real, it could get taken away. If the University security asks you to put it away, put it away.”
Where is it located?
In 2010, Anime Milwaukee is being located in the UW-Milwaukee Union. Here is the link to the website.

Anime Milwaukee also has an official convention hotel. Hotel rates have been reduced for Anime Milwaukee attendees. There will be many after hour events happening at the hotel.

How do we know who is staff?
Staff members will be wearing staff badges. If you have any questions during the convention, you can either find a staff member wearing a staff badge, or go to Con Ops on the First floor.
Where do I park?

Food situation?
There are many places to eat on campus that will be open during the convention, there will be more information available at the convention.
Should I bring normal clothes if I’m cosplaying?
This is entirely up to you, but there is a coat check to store your stuff.
Can I touch the cosplayers?
Please ask them before you do. Everyone loves hugs, but it’s only okay if you ask first.
Can I carry a sign?
Sure, but if it’s too big, we may ask you to put it away.
Is it ok to bring in actual weaponry?

What am I buying in the character auction?
You are not buying a person, you are bidding on cosplayers as dates to the dance (which immediately follows the cosplay contest.) Please see the following link for more information:

Can I talk to the voice actors?
People will be encouraged to ask the voice actors questions during their panels. If you see guests in the hallway, you are welcome to talk to them, ask questions, ask for hugs, etc.
