6/5/10:
Ok, so that took a little longer than expected. Getting to the point now, we're already working on next year's convention! Here are the developments so far:
-We're moving back to our original weekend of February 18-20
-Online pre-registration is ready to go. The first deadline is June 11, so hurry over to the registration page if you want the best deal
Lastly, we're looking for people to fill several staff positions. If you're interested, contact Jesse (the Con Chair) at conchair@animemilwaukee.com
3/16/10:
AMKE 3.5 is over...well, it has been for a few days but that's not the point. This year was great, as we managed to hit 2100 attendees!
This makes it the 4th straight year that Anime Milwaukee has, at the very least, doubled the previous year's attendance. It's rare for a con to have this kind of growth for 1 year, let alone 4 in a row, and it's all thanks to you!
As always, comments and suggestions are welcome. We can't fix something if we don't know what's not so good after all, so head over to the forums, register (if you haven't already), and let us know what you thought.
Winners of the AMV Contest have been announced in this thread
Winners of the Cosplay Contest (along with pictures) haven't managed to work their way to me (or the forums as far as I know) but should be up in the near future.
Over the next few days, I'll be taking down old information. For now, my homework calleth
Convention Hours:
Fri, Mar 12: 9am - 12am (midnight)
Sat, Mar 13: 8am - 12am
Sun, Mar 14: 8am - 6pm
Convention Rules:
1: Be safe, or be sorry! Please guys, use logic. No horseplay or leapfrog in the hallways.
2: Bathe! Trust us, nobody wants to be crammed into a small room full of people who haven't showered in a few days
3: Be Cleanly! Please put your trash in the garbage and the recyclables in the recycling bins.
4: Be nice to one another, keep in mind that while you are at the school, you are on state property
5: No smoking! All smoking on campus must be done at least 30 ft. away from every door. (This is a Wisconsin state law)
6: You must be registered and have a badge to enter main events and rooms. This will be enforced by the staff members and badgers
7: The convention ends at midnight, which is when the Union closes. After that, you gotta go home! Or to a hotel room. No sleeping at the convention
8: All UW Milwaukee rules must be followed, otherwise you will be asked to leave the convention and you will forfeit your badge
9: No live steel or loose chains. Prop weapons must be no bigger than what can safely fit through a normal doorway. If you can't fit it through the door, don't bring it. Also, UW Milwaukee bans guns on the premises, even if it looks real, it could get taken away. If the University security asks you to put it away, put it away.
